This is a Challenger that was brought up from North Carolina about 5 years ago minus most parts. The body, doors, fenders, trunk lid and a few odds and ends came with it.
It was sold to another guy up in Owen Sound and he was going to restore it but he had it for two years and didn't have time to start it, due to having his own resto business. He offered it to me because I pestered him to see if he could locate a Cuda- "ya right" he said but he then told me about this Challenger - an A93 option called the Deputy Coupe. I never heard of one before so I wasn't really interested in what model it was.
Looked at what was in pieces and bought it.

I then did some research on it and contacted the DMV in North Carolina. They said, "send $5.00 and we'll send you what we have on it." Done that and about 4 weeks later a big package came in the mail. It had all the owners, insurance companys, liens, a repo on the Chally.

Went on the internet and found the last guy who owned it down there and found some stuff about it- he sent me a pic on when he was starting to restore it.

It was a 383hp model with a 3 speed manual on the floor with a console.
Tawney gold ext.(puke) and black interior.
Here is a ad pic of the day

Options - not much on these beasts-
but front and rear sway bars and power drum brakes. Steel rims and caps were standard on this one.

Now the Deputy A93 coupe package doesn't have anything on it that doesn't require for safety.

Like- no second horn, cigarette lighter, inside rear view mirror, radio delete, stripe delete and the rear quarter windows were fixed in place by leaving out the regulator and bolting the track which are now fixed in place. The rear window winder was deleted and the hole plugged with a chrome button but I have heard that they can be black or white too!

Options for interior - white or black- thats it! and they are from the Barracuda line!!! From what I can find is that all base - low end cars had the flat hood - but according to chrysler records - all HP cars had the raised hood!! Go figure!

Now the standard engine was the 198 6 cyl. with the 225, 318 and 383 (2v and 4v) optional.
Standard for all Challengers was the A230 3 speed tranny- but you could upgrade to the auto or 4 speed.

The Deputy was a mid year introduction car in March 1970 and was brought back in 1971. There was a total of 1265 made in 1970 and 2035 made in 1971.
