Well I have ended this project as of 3/16/05 because on our first trip of 160 miles round trip about 70 miles into it I had car problems and had it towed to a repair shop.

The engine is basically blown, I'll be lucky to have salvagable parts from it to do a rebuild.

And being a college guy with little money 5,000 to do the repair (that's if most of the engine is still in good shape) is way out of my price range and a small block from Kragen for 1,700 is still too steep for me.

So I have settled to have it junked, which actually hurts a lot, this is my first car and I worked hard on it for nearly a year. But I have gotten a new project car. It's not an option in the cardomain listing so I may just have to post the pics here when I get them but it's a '65 Mercury Monterey with a breezeway roll down rear window, I think the car is pretty cool, but most haven't so far. And it's in wonderful shape for being 40 years old. Hell the only bad rust problem is the trunk and I'll just have to replace it, and some rust bubbles under the still good looking paint.

Hi Kenneth; To bad about the motor. You should try to sell it rather than scrap it. Someone will buy it.

Man, do not junk this car! Put a 4 sale sign on it and sell it to someone else. Hell, you could give it away!! This is partly why these cars ( and old cars in general are so scarce. But I digress. It was fun while it lasted tho, wasn't it? Good luck with your next project>
