1967 Mercury Monterey 390 Convertible
_______________________________________
I bought this car on 4/24/2004 for $4000. It has a rebuilt 390 2bbl, C6 auto Tranny and 2.75 rear gears.
Anyway- Since I just got it, I really havn't done much to it, these pics were all taken the weekend I bought it. I'll post more as things change, but for now, here ya go!
This is how the car looked when i found it- Sitting on the side of a back farm road with a for sale sign in the window... Definitely caught my eye!
Current Plans:
1. All rubber fuel lines & brake hoses are old & cracked & need to be replaced 2. Needs a tune up & carb rebuild
3. Rear brake shoes are dragging- need to fix- Probably re-do the brake shoes, drums & wheel cylinders all the way around to make sure its safe.
4. New Rims/Tires
5. Drive it!!!

Ben, Whatever you do, keep the original wheels and hubcaps. That car is in such great shape!! And, don't do anything to it you cannot undo. They are so rare. Ihave a 67 Park lane with 2001 Mustang Bullitt Rims (17X8). You can see some pics at http://www.greene-shipman.org/MercuryParkLane.html, but I'd recommend a Torque Thrust D like I have on my Cougar (http://www.greene-shipman.org/MercuryParkLane.html) or 16X8 or smaller. We had a tough time getting these on and they do rub up front. Also, I am trying to put together a 67 Full-sized Mercury Photo Archive and would love to add some pics of your car to it. Here is the link. My email is http://www.greene-shipman.org/67_Full_Sized_Mercury_Archive.html. Good luck with the car and keep me up to date on the progress. Sincerely, Channing Greene
