sx240z's 1973 Datsun 240ZThis is my Chevy V8 350 240z. I bought this z in November of 2002 for $700. When purchasing this car it came with so much extra parts like the whole suspension from a 280zx, seats, wiring harness from 280z, su carbs in great condition(which I sold), set of front and rear bumpers, interior panels for 280zx, r180(sold), and much much more. Let me know if you need some parts. I'll probably post a parts list later.
sx240z's 1973 Datsun 240ZWell It took me about 1.5 years to get my z running. First, I pulled the old 2.4 engine out. Then I painted the engine compartment with por-15(good stuff, but make sure u prep well before you paint). Then I removed all the tarry crap from underneath the car. If you guys are cleaning up ur undercarraige I recommend using Mr.Muscle oven cleaner. This stuff works great and was recommended to me by someone on Hybridz.org. After you spray it with Mr.Muscle let it soak in the dirt and tar. After spray the hell out of it with a pressure washer. I then took a paint/rust wheel on my drill and took it down to bare metal. After I put por-15 on it to prevent rust. I'll post some pics later.

sx240z's 1973 Datsun 240ZAfter that project I sought after all the parts needed to get it on the road. This includes engine, tranny, driveshaft, mounts, etc. Keep in mind searching for parts can take a while especially for custom swaps. After about a year I finally got it running. And man does it haul ass! But after driving it the stock shocks and springs didn't cut it. I had about 3" between the oilpan and the road(kinda scary). Also I was scraping my exhaust on some speed bumps. I got tired of this and ordered new springs from Arizona Zcar which had springs rated 180fr 200r and brought it back to stock height. My shocks are tokico hp shocks. It now rides at stock height and gave me the security I needed. I might put in taller wheels and tires in the future to fill up the fender gap. But I like how it rides now. All I need now are to replace my ball joints and my t/c rod bushings and bring it to an alignment shop.
