It all began when a elderly lady across the street finally gave up on driving due to poor eyesight and hearing. So her car sat in the garage for about 3 months until I asked about it. She said she is either giving it to charity or to anyone that wants it. Obviously, this was an oppourtunity not to be missed. One month later, I picked it up, signed the title, viola! Free Escort wagon.

Not just any Escort though, it's actually a clean one. The rear strut towers commonly rust through, making the car sag and handle poorly. But the towers on this one are still looking as good as they did in 1983.
It does leak quite a bit of oil though. Looks like a small crack in the block. :\

Yes, light blue and 3 speed automatic. GHEY?!
Nah, it's fine with me. Out of all of my current cars, this is the only auto one. Which will be nice if I have a day where I don't feel like putting any effort into getting around. And I definetly don't have any other light blue cars.
Little known to many, 1984-1985.5 Escort GT models had a 120 HP turbocharged 1.6(A close look at all of the dummy lights will reveal that there is a "TURBO OVERBOOST" light, it obviously doesn't illuminate for my particular Escort.), they sold poorly, but this means that there is potential for any old Escort to be a beastly turbo MONSTER. OK, not quite, but perhaps something that will catch your Mom's Taurus by surprise. (Hey, the 3.0 DOHC Taurii have some decent power. Don't even get me started on the SHOs. :D)

I'm seriously looking into turboing this machine, if I do it, should be done by August. It must be converted from carb to EFI, tranny cooler a good idea, I have easy access to Probe GT turbo parts (intercooler, IHI turbo, hoses), fuel pressure regulator to keep it from running lean, neccesary gauges (tach, oil pressure, temp, voltage, Air/fuel, and BOOST!!), and some exterior work for the 84-85 Escort GT look. Blacked out bumpers, trim, grill, etc. Big, square fogs under the bumper. Heh.
