Engine shots... this before installing my K&N AirCharger:

K&N AirCharger:

Here's the fenderwell without the stock airbox. I had to twist a few coolant lines to make it fit...

Pics of the completed install - I have since added an SLP 85mm MAF sensor and placed the IAT sensor into the filter to see if the intake temps are lower. So far, the setup still needs some tuning, but it works. (unlike alot of other Goats, the new MAF makes it run RICH!)

Comparing OEM (left) vs. the SLP MAF (right):

Obviously, the SLP MAF is a bit bigger. For whatever reason, the car ran really rich with this new MAF, prior to tuning. I've since used EFILive to tweak the new MAF curve to fit the updated VE tables...

Some pics of the newly-polished throttle body:
Here it is (stock) as it's coming apart...

And here's how it looks polished:

I also wound up bypassing the throttle body coolant line with this mod as well.

Here's some shots of the relocated IAT:

The left is the plug fabricated by Mike @ New Era Performance, here in Rochester, NY. On the right shows where I relocated it to - the end of the filter and out from behind the radiator. I did this because the pipe got pretty hot in stop-and-go traffic and gave falsely high IAT's.

My Homemade Home-Depot Oil Catch Can...:

A little thing to catch intake return oil:

This includes 3' of fuel injection line, a Husky air line filter, 2 3/8" barbed to 1/4" male NPT adapters and a pair of 1/4" elbows. The mount is fabbed out of 28Ga. metal, and mounted by the battery where it is cooler.

Dynatech Long-Tube Headers:

These have 1 3/4" primaries, leading to a high-flow cat.

SLP Power-Flo cat-back exhaust:

As you can see, the 2004 Goat really does have a "true-dual" exhaust; it only exits together on the left.

The old exhaust:

It took me about 3 hours under jackstands to put this in. The toughest part was the rubber hangers that held it up. __________________________________________________________________________________

How's it all work?
Here are screenshots of my first dyno session, 2/1/06:

As you can tell, my A/F ratios were way rich.
I've yet to get a formal tune for this. I was hoping to get closer to 330 rwhp after my long tubes...

...and for those that'd care, here's my latest dyno sheet:

jdcheng's 2004 Pontiac GTO

327 rwhp / 338 ft-lbs, after the long-tube install!
