Made engine swap from 1979 2.3L to 1988 2.3L from Mustang LX. Swapped out mechanical fuel pump for Carter inline electric F/P, changed intake from fuel injection back to the original 2BBL carburetor set-up, swapped 4 speed transmission for a borg warner T-5 from an 89 Mustang LX 2.3, changed ignition components to Accel Super stock wires and coil.
Due to the tragic accident that occured in OCT./03, am forced now to make the descision to keep the Capri.
It is currently stored in Alberta,indoors and driveable, needs front frame work, fenders and clip were replaced just after the accident.
This update is long overdue. I left Alberta late 2006, only to realize that the car was moved outdoors and had been there for 6 or so months...the update was sad. I guess a few neighborhood kids took out all the windows except for rear and moonroof, tore down the headliner, smashed up the guage pod and poked holes in the black vinyl seats and dashboard... needless to say the image in my mind was horrifying.
I never got back there until late this summer to find that it had been "disposed of" without my discretion... so I guess its safe to say thats the end of Capri #1, even sadder that that was the 1st year foxbody was made :( but a new is in the rising!
