Currently in process is the complete restoration/modification to my Dad's old
1967 Mercury Comet Sports Coupe.

7/7/09 update: Next week's install is the power window kit, shaved door handle kit, trans cooler, a/c condenser, electric fan; battery, battery box, in trunk; Lokar midnight series gas pedal, throttle & kickdown cables and rear shocks. Seats I am looking at 2007 LSC black leather full power/heated. Gauges are next, custom gauges installed in original cluster and possibly heads up display. Chrome is out at the shop, all emblems reconditioned. need to find .090 barrel clips.

I am replacing the stock 202 inline 6 with a 302 HO motor out of a '92 LSC. The motor has been stripped of all EFI equip. The lower end is good it will get new heads and cam. Engine mods include: Ford Racing E303 Hydraulic roller cam, World Products Windsor Sr. heads, Edlebrock Performer RPM Manifold, Edelbrock 750 Carb, BBK ceramic coated full length headers.

Trans is a custom built C4 non AOD built by Freddie Brown at F&B Performance out of New York. The stall converter is a Hughes Performance Streetmaster 2500 stall Torque Converter.

The rear end is a Ford 8.8 posi rear end with .373 gearing. New rear leaf spring suspension as well as Lakewood Traction Bars.

The shock towers have been shaved and coil over suspension with a power rack & pinion setup installed. The firewall and left & right engine compartment panels will be chromed and will hide the plumbing.

...more details to follow.

I agree on the seats! You defiantly need these buckets power every which way from Sunday super comfy for your power tour! Besides ,which would you rather have in your right hand,,,,,,,,,,,,, the shifter or her knee? LOL Seats are from 89 &up Supercoupe or XR7 I'm really thinkin hard on the M11 setup. fred

thank you for the comment. I appreciate it, I always get offers for it but its not going anywhere. You should see the eyes of the teens when they see me roll in there imports. They seem to look at me like I'm a police officer. I also love your comet, I'm a huge fan or MERCURY. Keep up the good work. I hope to someday find myself a 67 comet gt. 5 stars and keep me posted on your car's progess.
