And so i was in the beginning of the long reconstruction. In a month i got the car into the garage and started stripping it down, sanding down the old paint, and messing with body filler. That's my brother working, best brother in the world that is.

The car was ready for painting. The real pain was a rear right quarter that we never actually evened out because of it's curvy shape. The body is a real challenge to work on. Here are some of the ideas of what happened after.
We had many arguments about what color the wheels should be, i wanted them bronze at first, my friends advised gunmetal, but at the end we settled for contrast with whites

The car was painted in a few days, we had some leaks so had to sand down the whole passenger side and the rear bumper and paint it over. The paint was a custom mix between black and midnight blue metallic; it looks black at all the times, but at extreme lighting or the right angle it becomes purple with green metallic. My baby rolled out of the garage on December 20th... Since then it has become hard to take my eyes off of it.

It wasn't too hard, we put a few layers of translucent candy apple red paint from Testors and few of clear coat. Watch:

May 14th coming home from soccer game and after some hard driving my clutch fell apart into dust
