And so i was in the beginning of the long reconstruction. In a month i got the car into the garage and started stripping it down, sanding down the old paint, and messing with body filler. That's my brother working, best brother in the world that is.
Along with fixing the car we decided to shave all the emblems and antenna

The car was ready for painting. The real pain was a rear right quarter that we never actually evened out because of it's curvy shape. The body is a real challenge to work on. Here are some of the ideas of what happened after.

We had many arguments about what color the wheels should be, i wanted them bronze at first, my friends advised gunmetal, but at the end we settled for contrast with whites

My "sweat shop"
The car was painted in a few days, we had some leaks so had to sand down the whole passenger side and the rear bumper and paint it over. The paint was a custom mix between black and midnight blue metallic; it looks black at all the times, but at extreme lighting or the right angle it becomes purple with green metallic. My baby rolled out of the garage on December 20th... Since then it has become hard to take my eyes off of it.
A few months down the road i started liking the all-red tails M-editions come with, and with help of fellow mx6-ers from all over the us i transfered my

It wasn't too hard, we put a few layers of translucent candy apple red paint from Testors and few of clear coat. Watch:

After a week of work and my brother's test drive the car is back in action. I missed her so much...

I love that mazda! It's got clean and simple lines to it without a bodykit, that is the only way to go. And I was actually thinking of buying those wheels. Check out my mazda and tell me what I need.
