G'day.
I'm an Aussie (and yes, I'm in Australia, CarDomain wouldn't let me choose Queensland as a State so I picked Alabama in the U.S... always liked Alabama, looks like a cool place)
Anyways, this is my car when I bought it...
It's a 1981 Porsche 924 Turbo. The Yanks call it a 931 but I believe the official Typ number is 932 for right-hand drive cars. It's Australian-delivered, one of only 171 ever brought here to Oz, apparently. It's had some mods...
I bought it back in January '01. It is my third car. I've always had a thing for 924's, especially the Turbo's. My best mates' old man bought one back in about '88 and to this day I remember the first time I saw it. It was silver and (although I didn't know it at the time, I was only about 10 years old) it was completely stock and near mint condition.
Mate, that thing looked like a bullet. Here it is...
And I'm actually behind the wheel! That's my second car, a '77 BMW 320i in the foreground. Great car. So light and agile.
I got to drive my mate's 924 Turbo about 10 years ago. I fell in love. I'm officially addicted to boost!
I remember trying to heel'n toe it into a 'roundabout and failing miserably! But, oh, what fun!
So anyway, a handful of years on and I'm lovin' my car. But I don't get to drive it as often as I'd like to. She's pretty much a once-a-month weekend warrior.
She hasn't given me too much trouble and hasn't cost too much to own, considering it's a Porsche. Parts aren't really expensive and the engine is pretty much bulletproof.
A Yank mate from The 924 'Board was in Oz not too long ago and we took a drive up into the Sunshine Coast hinterland, to Maleny. Here's some pic's...
The other cars are all local owners.
Here's another (recent) pic of my car...
She's a hottie, eh?
Speaking of hotties, I've got no more time at the moment so I'll leave you with a pic of some girls from the 2005 Gold Coast Indy 300. We had a ball...
(The rest of the pages are just various pic's that haven't been sorted)
