I just picked up my new baby, a Midnight Blue, 220 Horse Powered Turbo PT Cruiser GT, with slate interior. Haven't had time nor fund to mod it yet, any suggestion are welcomed.

Love your cruiser, I was able to get a left over new 05 in the same color. "Love It" Mine has the tan top with the light pearl beige interior. I will have a picture online soon. Any suggestions for Mods let me know.

First thing I would do is to install an air intake. I installed the kit made by Air Raid, and removed the weather stripping in that area under the hood...dramatic improvement. Not sure if Air Raid model will fit under your hood though, there are many other options.
