Hi all. Here is my 2003.5 Laser Blue Mazda Protege5. I got this one back in September of 03, and it's been a blast. Off the lot, the Protege is one of the best FWD handling cars offered in the US. I was drawn to the P5's attractive styling and fun handling. After driving the car stock for several months, it wasn't long before I started looking for modifications to enhance the already above average handling characteristics of the car. However, I first started off primarily with mostly cosmetic mods. that were fairly easy to do. I'm not sure what came first, but among the first changes were painting my calipers red (hey, looks nice at least), and painting my headlight enclosures black. From there on out, I just kept going little by little and eventually got this:
The goal for this car has been attractive, sporty, and CLEAN. I've really taken a liking to the "JDM" look, but I exercise my personal opinion/judgement heavily and have tried to choose only items that add to the already great looks and nature of the car; not detract or overpower the main appeal. No special JDM only *oh shit handle* here lol. I hope you will agree the general look and character of the car certainly sets it apart from the rest! She's peppy under the right pedal, but I have an extensive turbo build planned featuring a Garrett GT28rs "Disco Potato". Stay tuned...
