Adding clear lenses
roymac's 2000 Nissan Maximaroymac's 2000 Nissan Maxima
roymac's 2000 Nissan MaximaTools & Material
1. 11 watt-12V, garden flood lights- found either in electrical or gardening
2. JB Quick weld
3. Tin shears
4. Scissors

Procedure
1. Remove headlight from car and open (Described in LED write-up see page 2)

2. Remove chrome turn signal/parking light shroud from chrome portion of headlight housing.

3. Use the shroud as a pattern & trace the lower round portion onto a piece of cardboard, then cut out tracing.
4. Use the circle and trace about 1/3 onto the edge of cardboard and cut out.

roymac's 2000 Nissan Maxima5. Place shroud into semi-circle cutout, then trace upper part of shroud onto cardboard and cut out. FIG 1

6. Remove plastic lenses from floodlight; this can be done by working around the lens and plying it off with a flathead screwdriver. The plastic is rather soft so dont worry about cracking lens.

roymac's 2000 Nissan Maxima7. Center circular pattern on lens & use a marker to trace onto lens. FIG 2

roymac's 2000 Nissan Maxima8. Use Tin shears to cut on the outside of tracing. FIG 3

9. Fit lens into shroud, use a pair of scissors to trim to size, when finished the lens should sit tight on the inside lip of shroud.

roymac's 2000 Nissan Maxima10 place shroud on flat surface and rotate lens until the lines are perpendicular (@90 degrees) to the surface it is sitting on. FIG 4

roymac's 2000 Nissan Maxima11. Place cardboard cutout into upper portion, and use a straightedge to transfer one of the lines of the lens onto the cutout. FIG 5 (side a)

12 Transfer the line onto the opposite side of cutout.

roymac's 2000 Nissan Maxima13. Place cutout on inside of lens so the transferred line is visible, and even with the lines of the lens. FIG 6 (side b)

14 Once in position trace and cutout.

15. Place in shroud and trim as necessary

roymac's 2000 Nissan Maxima16. Once you are satisfied with, size and position of lens use small drops of JB quick weld to secure. Apply in small amounts in areas where it will not be visible from outside.FIG 7.

17. If you accidentally get JB weld in a visible area wait until it cures a bit before removing, or else it will be made worse and smear.

roymac's 2000 Nissan Maxima18.When finished lines of both lenses should be even. FIG 8

18. Reassemble and mount headlight
19. Done
