This is my Hella Supertone Horn installation page.

I bought a set of 118db horns, Hella part # HL85115 from safedrives.com I highly recommend purchasing from Charles.

I was originally going to place the horns on either side of the lower center grille, however, given the immense size of these horns I decided to keep them in the stock horn location, behind the drivers side lower grille. THis location keeps the horns hidden, while keeping the radiator unblocked. Here they will join my Temperature sensor, and be hidden behind my Hella Micro DE DRL's. The fact that they're behind the Micro DE's makes it a little more difficult to mount the supertones as I have to keep them far enough to allow the back of the foglights to clear the horns.

I bought a few steel brackets and stainless steel bolts with nylock nuts. I bought small L-brakcets and one 8" long steel bracket. The 8" bracket bolts to the stock horn attachment point. No drilling into the bumper for me! The L brackets allowed me to face the Supertones forward for the best possible shriek.

I used the Hella Relay to maximize the power going to the horns. I used a male connector which I plugged into the car's positive horn wire in the original connector. I taped and tie-wrapped the male connector so it doesn't work its way loose.

Once the bumper and Micro DE was reinstalled, here is the finished installation.

Here's a soundclip of the Supertones from 10' away from the front bumper.

BEEP!
