Guess what's going in here?
Getting there, not too bad for a first shot at this fiberglassing business.
I've got a 10" Image Dynamics subwoofer going in this enclosure. It's sealed and should give about the recommended 0.35 sq ft of volume. I'm covering it with spray on bedliner so it'll look a little like the spare that it's sitting in. It'll be powered by a second a/d/s/ ph15 amplifier.
Here's the sub in the hatch with most of the wiring installed. I've since put in a 1 x 4 pine perimeter with four fans and a temp sensor which speeds up the fans when the amps hit 50 degrees celcius. Everything is hidden under a false floor, and a 2foot by 2 foot steel grille protects the subwoofer and lets the sound and heat pour out.
Here are my amps, I used my oscilloscope to set the gains on it to prevent clipping which is indicated by a flat top on the sine waves produced by hooking up the probes to the speaker leads and playing a test tone. I used a 1 KHz tone for the component speaker amp, and a 50Hz tone for the subwoofer amp.
