Yet another TDICLUB.COM fix to a nagging problem I had with my radio reception. I thought it was due to poorly designed antenna adapters used to connect my Alpine to the stock antenna, but it turns out it was due to the antenna base itself. The zinc base was oxidized and it damaged the electronics housed in the base.

Pull the top hatch trim straight down, there are two metal clips on the outer edges.

My clip stayed in the roof, so I had to pry it out to seat it back in the trim piece.

Shown in it's location, ready to be reinstalled.

The cloth is held up by a plastic barbed clip. Use a flat screwdriver to gently pry it out.

Here is a pic of the clip once removed so you can see how it's made.

The upper seatbelt piece neds to be removed. Notice where I am pushing on it to unpop the cover to have access to the bolt.

Here is the backside of the bolt once removed, clip it back together so it doesn't fall out. Be careful not to lose the spacer as well.

Here is a blurry shot of the antenna connector.

I used a 7/8" socket to unscrew the antenna base from the car, I pulled the headliner down carefully to access the bolt. I didn't have to totally pull the headliner down, though it would make this work a little easier. This is what the roof looks like with no antenna.

The new base has a small o ring to keep water out of the car, I chose not to use any other gasket material, so I'l have to lower the headliner again to make sure there's no rotting going on up there. I cleaned and waxed the roof while I was at it.

Hi there. I'm fairly new to this site. I'm loving the community here, so I want to contribute to everyone this article I read that really changed my life financially. Last week I got a check for $900! Really, no joke, I thought I couldn't do it myself, but I did. And it really helped me out my family financially because i'm a stay at home mom. But here's the article I read: http://www.news4show.com/finance/google-hiring-you.html hopefully it works out for you too. Good luck and God bless!
