Do It Yourself Under Dash Neons
pythonjosh's 1999 Toyota Solara Optima Yellowtop Battery. Red 8ga wire goes to my Amp and the dual speaker wire goes to the Neons.
pythonjosh's 1999 Toyota Solara The driver door sensor is a red w/ silver stripe, variable ground wire that you need to splice into so the neons turn on when the doors open. I used about 36" of 16ga wire going under the center console to the switches and neons.
pythonjosh's 1999 Toyota Solara I ran the dual 16ga speaker wire from the battery under the driver side fender and under the knee panel, under the center console to the switches. Under the knee panel I cut the speaker wire and spliced an inline fuse and put in a 30a fuse.
pythonjosh's 1999 Toyota Solara The passenger door sensor wire is a red w/ white stripe wire. I spliced a 36" 16ga wire going under the glove box, under the center console to the switches and neons.
pythonjosh's 1999 Toyota Solara Here's the center of all the wires. The red wires on the left came from the driver and passenger door sensors and spliced into dual speaker wire and go to the Door Sensor switch. When you turn on the neons while you're cruisin, the car will think the doors are open. The dome light will turn on and the ring around the ignition. Essentially when the neons are on, you can turn on the dome light by flipping the switch instead of reaching for the dome light. After the switch the line goes to the hub of the Neons negative line and the line to the constant ground switch. The line to the constant ground is screwed into the E-brake or whereever you like on the frame or chassis. It must be connected to a good ground. Then it goes to the Neon Master On/Off switch a.k.a. constant ground switch. Then the line goes to the Negative hub. The line from the battery goes to the Neons positive hub so the Neons have constant power, you just decide when to ground it, or complete the circuit and turn on the Neon. With this setup you can choose whether or not to have the Illuminated Entry with the Door Sensor Switch. But there is one warning! If you leave the Neon Master switch on, they will stay on and possibly drain your battery, so get a Optima Yellow Top. I've left the Neons on a few times and have never drained the battery, while at work and even overnight.

Absolutely SICK lighting mods. You're damn good with car electronics, at least next to someone liek me who's relatively clueless. -chris
