Carbon Fiber hood bought from CustomMaxima.com, 1st batch they received.
Current look of the car, I plan on repleacing the AE headlights with some 02 HIDs or the Projectors as my AEs start to condensate a little bit.
Custom diamond plate floor mats, indiglo stainless steel door sills.
Some more interior shots, Sparco anodized blue shift knob, with stock shifter rod, I installed a short throw shifter at one point and time but hated it, made finding 3rd gear dificult on the highway when trying to pass someone at a quick rate.
Prototype indiglo white face gauges I had made, I wanted the stock look durring the day, and ended up getting ocean blue effect durring the nite. Chrome gauge bezzels around the speedo, tach, fuel and temp gauge. Simulated aluminum gauge bezzel overlay also :)
GXE center console shot, it allows mounting of a single din head unit, with a pocket below it for storage or mounting of gauges- what I will be doing in a very short future. Alpine CD/XM/MP3 system which is about 3 years old. GXE comes with a AM/FM/Tape with 4 speakers- no tweeters in the A-pillars like the GLE or SE had and no subwoofer in the rear deck- where I mounted my XM antenna.
AE front lip, with FoilaTec mesh grill in the air dam, soon stuffed with a Spearco intercooler behind it. OE foglights- GXEs didn't come with fogs from the factory.
Enkei RPO1 17x8 with Falken Azenis Sport 245-45-17s all around- currently on Bridgestone Turanza EL42 in 235-45-17 in the front for winter traction. Hawk HPS front brake pads with EBC rotors, Akibono Ceramic rear pads and GoodRidge SSteel brake lines all around- 300ZX caliper pictures with 04 Maxima rotors soon to come :)
Magnaflow mufflers- resonator and rear section with 2.5" piping from Cattman Ypipe back- no cats. SE-R badge is on it, in true patronage to my previous car, 93 SE-R that I had for a very long time and sold. I still go to all the SE-R events so I decided to sport one of these badges. I think the spoiler less look looks really good. SE tailights repleace the all red ones that GXE came with.
AutoX event, this was about 2 years ago when I ran Konig Tantrum w/ Dunlop W10 235-40-18s- weight a ton but looked semi good. It sat on Koni Yellow shocks with Ground Controll 500lb springs front and 400lbs springs back along with a Addco rear sway bar and 3.5L SE Maxima front sway bar.
Doggn the cones in the big boat, supprisingly enough if driven properly it did awesome around the course. No other 4 door came even close and I was right there with highly modified Audi S4s even with my crappy 18s.
300ZX NA wheels, powdercoated black on Yokohama AVS intermediates 225-50-16s, these where my old race wheels, car picked up an extra 3 seconds from switching to these over the mega heavy Konig 18s. 16lbs each for the Z32 wheels compared to 25lbs for each 18" Konig- without tires for both wheel weight.
spoiler less Maxima, to each its own, I like the look. I dont dig big spoilers, even the factory one doesn't quite do anything for me. Picture taken at Bussie Woods- close to Woodfield Mall.
Bussie Woods picture at sunset, carbon fiber hood with functional anodized blue hood pins. Clean look, makes for a nice desktop wallpaper :)
Picture of my OE flywheel with OE disk and ACT Pressure Plate, 73K miles on it looked pretty good still. Decided to repleace it with ACT PPlate, ACT disk and add a Fidanza flywheel with a Unorthodox crank pulley. Difference is night and day in rev up and engine response- best mods ever on a naturally aspirated engine. Since VQ30DE-K is internally balanced the flywheel and pulley will not throw off the engine balance.
Engine with no flywheel on it, kinda dirty from all the clutch disk dust, but after over 70K miles I seen worse.
Maxima without its tranny, very dirty in this picture, but I'm not going to wash the car before I perform surgery to it !
Reason why I had to take the tranny out in the 1st place. This is what my 4th gear ended up looking like from my morning commute to work that same day. While accelerating in 4th gear all the sudden I felt like it poped out of gear. It blew all the gear teeth off my 4th gear, both the input shaft and counter shaft looked like this. I drove it to work another 10 miles, tore it apart, cleaned all the shavings out, repleaced the gears and while at it all the synconizers. Now she shifts like a new tranny. I added Redline ShockProof gear oil- medium weight to the tranny.
