NEWS! Oct 5th,2005
I am working my butt off at Stanford as a resident but loving every minute of it! The Bay Area rocks! It's been sunny on the pennisula 99% of the time and it's never too hot or cold! Big difference from the sweltering humidity an frosty winters of the Northeast! As for the car, I am about to hook up the MEVI (Middle Eastern Variable Intake) and send in a spare ecu to JWT to turn my car into a beast! :) More later...
NEWS! June 1st
I'm going to Stanford for residency! I just graduated from medschool and gained two initials... To celebrate I finished installing my from scratch retrofitted E46 bixenon projectors from an M3 into a set of 97-99 Maxima headlights! Enjoy the pics below.

I'll find out if I match for residency in two days, where I'm going in 5! To celebrate I took on a project installing (by myself) a Microvision DVD player and TFT screen as well as a rear view camera! Very demanding by MY (electronic newbie) standards but a lot of fun at the same time! Enjoy the pics!
Rear view camera showing some random Altima butt parked behind me. Better picks later. The sun was shining directly down washing out the image and causing that red distortion.
Helicopter smashes building and cool glass shattering special effects. (Switches installed in ash tray).
My DVD player mounted in glove box.
Better view of the switches with Neo and Agent smith flying. (Yes the switches are in fact illuminated!)
Where I live. Early evening. The camera seems to work best in indirect light and early evening.
Most of the dash at night with RVC on.
image quality at late dusk. Very little light in actuality so this image is pretty impressive. Actually the pic doesn't do it justice. It looked better in person.
Total night shot. Only light is from the moon and the street lamps in the distance.
cross section of switches and mounting (cardboard reinforced with duct tape and spray painted/clear coated).
How I secured the switches on the reverse side of the mounting.
Switches installed in ash tray
I had to cut the wires on the rear view camera so I could splice in extra lengths of ground and power wire.
Poor Max. Innards exposed and me tapping into the cigarette lighter for power and finding good spots for grounding.
Holes drilled out the back of glovebox with dremel to feed DVD wires through.
Microvision DVD player mounted inside glovebox.
Nov 26th:
Hope all you Americans had a great turkey day. It was weird being in a warm place with no snow to battle to get home. Happy black Friday!
News Sept 28th:
I am in California doing fun med school electives in the San Francisco Bay area. I miss my max horribly but it's worth it for the amazing weather and culture here!
My max as it is currently. Love the red/clears, the 5th gen muffler and the 2001 wheels :)!
My fiancee and I after just crossing the country coast to coast from Boston to SoCal somewhere on rt 1 with my then completely stock max
Two of us about to hike Half Dome and camp in Yosemite National Park. That cross country trip beat up the car after 9,000 miles in less then a month sometimes over gravel or otherwise crappy roads! This started the mod frenzy to replace worn out parts with upgraded parts that transformed the driving characteristics of my car!
Center Sylvania Silverstar (R side of car) vs Hanabi 7000k HID (L). A lot cleaner and in real life a huge difference in style and function!
gauge rings in cluster (paradox.com)
Blue Leds from Superbrightleds.com and HID's at night
HID's at night with Blue LED courtesy light
Night time dash shot with old crappy oem wood kit
Crappy beam pattern
HID Beam pattern in fog. Look how far it goes! It's insane how much brighter they are than the crappy (but pretty) Sylvania Silverstars I had on before!
Gauges out of the car. Little bit of a headache to pull out the first time but easier any time after that.
Rare David L '95-'96 red/clears. I actually didn't pay a fortune and I love the way they look on my '95! It really cleans up the look without being as ricey as the Altezza's that are also available.
Warpspeed Y-Pipe. Noticeable increase in acceleration- especially above 2800 RPM's. Transforming above 3500.
Close up of Y pipe welds
Clear corners and fog lights that I installed.
check out the red clears and dual tipped 5th gen muffler! Oh yeah, the nice 5th gen wheels (anchors)
Night time interior shot with Red LED switches, blue gauges and carbon-fiber dash.
Same thing just focused on the drivers side. The RED LED's are brighter in real life the the stereo faceplate is darker. The blue guages are about the same.
After taking this picture, I realized just how hard it is to take night-time shots with bright lights can be!
BTW, The fogs are Narva Rally Gold from SUVLIGHTS.com and while overwatted, I haven't had any problems with cracked lens or burned out wires. Nice and yellow, and so bright they actually work in the fog!
This is the reason I don't want to live in the Northeast again... over 4.5 ft of snow in one storm. argh.
My sig pic on maxima.org. Thanks go to Erty67 and his crazy photoshop skills!
More to come! This is a work in progress! My ultimate goal (when I win the lottery and have the time) is the golden grail- forced induction...
Thanks and if you want, vote and leave a message!
