The exterior ...

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is the car...

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Side view.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta So far I have made only slightly mods on the exterior. This are the clear corners.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I changed the previous clear corners for this ones.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta As you can see it had steel wheels, it's the cheapest model.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta A rear view, nice magnaflow polished stainless steel exhaust with 3" tips.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is how the exhaust looks, I think they did an excellent job on the muffler shop when cutting the bumper to make it fit nicely.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I didn't like to see the shiny body from the exhaust, made my car look a little bit ricey, mostly at night if you were driving behind the exhaust shone pretty much. I decided to fix that on the magnaflow muffler like the guys from Remus did.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is how it eneded after I painted it with hi temp paint.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I painted only the side that faces the rear from the exhaust body, the exhaust tips and the rest remained with polished stainless steel finish. Much better.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is an old view form the front, I replaced the lower grilles for aluminum mesh. You can see here that the middle part is bent.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Here it is after I replaced this part. Now it looks perfect.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I removed the alu mesh to give it a more "stock" look and hide the intercooler a little bit from the untrained eye on the street, hehehe.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Rear view.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta As it looks now.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta After I added the H&R wheel spacers on the rear, looks even wider.

All the windows are tinted, the second clearest dark tone, including the front one, which makes it really nice to drive under any kind of weather.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I got the wing finally, it looks very clean.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I hope it's functional, because some wings are just for looks.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta A rear viw of the car with it's wing, looks nice!.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta The paint looks really nice, but the color is a pain in the ass to keep clean.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Another one from the paint...

I have to polish this car every month so no sctraches are seen.

I want to add carbon fiber tail lights from APC.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I got the heated blue mirrors at the 2004 DROME expo here in Guad, I installed them and look much better than the stock ones.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Since the bumper had to be removed for installing the intercooler, I took out the stock lights to paint them like the GLI version.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is how they ended, used high gloss laquer to match the car paint finish. They look awesome mounted!

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I got some 8000k bulbs (right) for the head lamps. check out the difference compared to "HID" imported purple bulbs (left).

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I got some black FK headlights with angel eyes, they look great!.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is a close up of the projector light (low beam).

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is a close up of the projector light with the fogs turned on (note that I pulled 2 bulbs from the angel eye, I have to put them back on!).

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is how it looks at night, cool, huh?.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is how it looks with the fogs turned on.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This the light pattern of the main (low) beam.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This the light pattern of the fog lights.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is how it looks from behind with the fog light turned on.

My car didn't have fogs from the factory so I had to add the harnesses and the euroswitch to make them work. The wiring was purchased from ECS tuning, it includes everything you need to make the installation.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I changed the bulbs by white leds, since the bulbs burned out quite fast, I guess because of the heat from the lamps or something like that.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Another view, now the angel eyes look white.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I got also PIAA Xtreme White plus bulbs for the low beam, the illumination is much better than the hella bulbs, and it seems I have xenon because of the lenses I guess.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is a close up from the headlamp with the leds and the PIAA bulbs. Looks much better than before, and I see better at night too!.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I got a Co-Way 8000k HID kit for the low beams. Here is the installation.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Here you can see the difference in intensity from the HID beam (right) compared to the PIAA halogen (left).

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Here are both low beams with HID. Now I can seee really well at night and thanks to the projector style lamps there is no glare to other drivers.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I moved the PIAA bulbs to the high beam, now it's even stronger!. Looks much better than before, and I see better at night too!.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is a close up from the headlamp with bulbs again for the angel eyes and the low HID beam.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is a view from the front. The light is white but the projectors make the headlight look really blue. Looks nice.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I got this GLI front lip for my car, it was used but in good condition, this is before it was painted.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is how it looked when installed.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta The lip lowered the front of the car, so I had to get side skirts to match it. I got the OEM GLI skirts. Her are before installation.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta The lower part of the rear bumper had to be painted too in order to match the whole thing. I didnt get the GLI on in this case because the height is the same and I had the exhaust cutout already. Plus I don't like the wing looking thing it has on the sides. This is how it looks now.

The results:

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I got GLI smoked tail lights now, it looks nice. For some reason on the picture they look clear but they are smoked.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta I replaced the rear wing by a OEM german one, looks really nice.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is the rear view.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Another view.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Check out the carbon fiber hood... I added a shaded clear coat so it looks darker, also painted black the front and it fades after loke 4-5 inches. It weights less than half of the OEM one.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta This is just before I changed the wheels. I like it!.

I just got these center caps for my OEM wheels:

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

This is how they look... cool!!

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

I changed the rear amber bulbs by chrome ones and the rear red fog bulb by an LED one.

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

This is how it looked before, you can see the bulbs color through the smoked areas:

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

This is how it looked afterwards:

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

It looks better, but the brightness of the chrome bulbs (right) is slightly less than the OEM amber ones (left), check it out:

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

 This is the OEM antena:

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

I installed this aluminum antena, much shorter, but didn't like the color, looks kinda Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jettaricer:

I painted it black and think that it looks much better, what do you think?

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

I shaver the rear to add the .:R emblem:

Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

Completing the Volkswagen Racing look (.:R):

 Ivan_Baez's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta

I smoked the side markers and bumper lights to match the rear GLI tail lights. I made some extra passes after the pics were taken so they ended up darker than what is shown on the picture. I think they look nice. will take some pics from this later.

Nice car, I have a 2.0 as well, I wanted to get it to about 200 hp but I don't think I have the money. How much did you pay for your final turbo?
