1972 CHEVELLE SS
MY BABY IS MOVING TO NORTHERN CALI!

This car has the original big block engine, factory AC, transmission (TH-400) and rear (12 bolt posi). It is a numbers matching car and is still GM Flame Orange, the same color it was when new. The paint is at least 15 years old but still looks very good. It has 68,000 original miles on the odometer. I have the original build sheet that goes with the car.
Suspension upgrades include: Polygraphite super front end suspension kit and a Hotchkis rear suspension kit with KYB Gas Adjust shocks at all four corners. The following parts were powder coated; Trans support, inner fender wells and engine accessory brackets. Rebuilt quick ratio power steering box, rebuilt column shift tilt steering column, new custom stainless steel shift linkage.
The original 402 Cubic inch big block was recently rebuilt by Bontempo Brothers Competition. It runs on premium pump gas and was built strong and to be reliable. It was balanced, bored .10 over and the original heads were milled & the block was decked. The engine was Dyno tuned by Bruces Speed Shop. The engine makes around 425 horse and 500 ft lbs torque at the flywheel. Parts include components from Speed Pro, all ARP bolts including stainless 12 pt engine dress up kit, Comp Cams, new 650 Holley carb & Holley 130 GPH fuel pump, Edelbrock port matched intake, Clevite bearings, 3/8 pushrods, Comp Cams roller rockers, Speed Pro hypereutectic pistons, 10.5:1 compression, MSD Distributor, Blaster Coil & MSD Box (box mounted under dash to keep semi-stock look under the hood), 8.8 MM Accel 300+ black Racing spark plug wires, Hedman Elite headers with Stage 8 locking header bolts and factory A/C.
Motor mounts and trans mount are poly and made by Energy Suspension.
The original Turbo-400 Trans modifications include a B & M Trans pak & B & M 3000 torque converter. I have not rebuilt the trans. The Trans was rebuilt by the prior owner. I did replace all of the fluid, pan gasket, front and rear seals and the filter.
The original rear modifications include a new 3.73 Richmond ring & pinion.
Entire engine bay and front frame has one coat of POR-15 and a second coat of POR-15 top coat. Anything else I had in pieces has two coats as well.
The fuel tank & fuel sending unit were replaced in '06.
New American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels, 15 X 7 up front, 15 X 8 in the rear with 245 60 15's up front and 275 60 15's in the rear.
The original wheels are powder coated Stainless Steel with new reproduction center caps & lug nuts. They are in storage and come with the car.
I have also installed new stainless brake lines at the rear, stainless transmission vacuum line and all new weather stripping.
All fluids are synthetic with the exception of the brake fluid which was entirely replaced when I flushed the entire brake system. The brake pads were replaced as well.
Electrical modifications include the following new reproduction wiring harnesses:
Engine harness, Front lighting, A/C and Dash harnesses.
The tach, clock & amp gauge were all replaced with new reproduction units.
Exhaust is all flowmaster 2 1/2" with American Thunder mufflers.
Sound system includes a Kenwood Excelon head unit, 1300 watt Memphis Belle amp feeding 2 6.5" Boston Acoustics front speakers mounted in Custom Autosound kickpanels, JL satellite tweeters mounted at the top of the pillars, 2 Boston Acoustics 6x9s in the rear deck and a single 12" Polk sub in the trunk.
The interior is the original bench with the shifter located on the column. The seats are custom with cloth inserts in the seats but was made to look original.
This car has an entirely new suspension & the drive train has been redone as well as all of the electrical wiring & components from the front seats forward. This car does not have more than 3,000 miles on any of the parts that I have installed or had rebuilt over the past 5 years.

Special thanks to Doug, Melissa, Brian, Bontempo Brothers Competition - BBC, Bruce's Speed Shop and especially MY FAMILY for putting up with my obsession!
