1989 Nissan Laurel.
I bought this car in the beginning of 2003 when i first moved to new zealand expecting it to be in pretty ratty condition, but when i saw it everything was immaculate. none-the-less i did a few basic mods withing the first 2 months, then continued to thrash the nuts off it for another 6 months, entering a few drift comps and trackdays. Then took it off the road to start building and putting money into the endless pit that is car racing.

the first mods i did to the car were to install a factory bov from a skyline as the laurel had none from factory and i could tell the turbo was really struggling. also i made up a 3" exhaust from the turbo back and put a cheapo hks panel filter in. my main goal was a manual conversion which i got all the parts for out of a diesel laurel and a box out of a rb20de skyline, and with a weekends work it was 5 speed manual! :) also put some shitty king spring super lows in, but they weren't low enough so i cut them like the rugged cunt i am (handles like shit, need coilovers). made up strut bars out of square 1/8th wall steel tube.

open day from october
this was the best day i've ever had on Pukekohe raceway. perfect weather and the car was going hard with no problems, also managed to consistently link up the esses and castrol corner.

first time out on the track ever, was an awesome day and i learnt alot (like going 150k sideways isn't something you want to do on your first day out) good thing there are gravel pits. drifting on stock suspension, 15" wheels, and full interior leaves alot to be desired from my setup

Sliding through the esses
Pukekohe was an intimidating track for me, so instead of going out there and eyeing up the track first i just went hard out with no fear (wouldn't reccommend it). ended up spinning quite a few times, managed to calm down towards the end of the qualifying session and get a few good runs in.

good place to do 2nd gear skids all the way around the course, nothing much to hit other than cones and the ground is VERY slippery. my car had been manual for 1 week so this was all new to me, yet managed to get all the corners hooked up quite easily.
I've got a load of parts ready to be installed, just have to wait till february when i return so i can get it running again. upgrades that will be going on: Complete 5stud brake system off skyline gtst with 4pot calipers; s13 BC Racing coilovers; adjustable front castor rods; adjustable rear upper arms; aluminum rear subframe collars and nolathane bushes; full nolathane bush kit; tial 38mm wastegate(purrty blue colors); have a jamex bucket seat and sparco sprint seat sitting around that need rails; front mount not purchased yet but will do before it gets driven next, with custom intake plenum.
also a cage will come in once i get past the fact i'd have to rip out my pimping leather interior. think that's it for now.
