Here’s the story about my car and what it has come to be. I have a 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix that originally had a vinyl top, chrome trim everywhere, bench seats and the 3.8 liter V6 just to name a few. I bought a totaled 1989 Chevy Camaro Z28 with the 350TPI drivetrain. My Grand Prix now has the Z28’s 350TPI and the 700r4 transmission with anything and everything to make it work. I installed the 99,600 original mile drivetrain directly into the car with the following mods: Hooker longtubes, 3" custom cold air intake, and a Holley fuel pressure regulator. I added an oil cooler, B&M mega shifter, and a B&M Transpack kit to the transmission. The exhaust coming from my header collectors sports 2 1/2 inch pipes dualed out to an X-pipe, and then to a set of two chamber Flowmaster mufflers. The fuel system had to be totally revamped since the GP originally had a carburetor. I had to modify the fuel sending unit/fuel pump assembly (from the Z28) and installed it into a fuel tank with the baffle necessary for fuel injection out of a 1986 Chevy Monte Carlo. The 7.5 GM rear end with a 2:73 gear ratio was replaced with a 1987 Buick Grand National 8.5 rear end with 3:73 gears. I also pulled out the entire original dash system, console, wiring and replaced it with the complete dash, center console, and wiring harness from the 1989 Z28. The inside of the car now sports a gray interior out of a 1987 Pontiac Grand Prix that had bucket seats. The seats are getting redone in black with grey inserts(similar to the Grand National seats) as we speak. Wheels are Centerline Telstars 15x7 (front) / 15x8 (rear). The tires are Nitto Drag Radials on the rear 275/50/15 and Nitto Radials on the front 225/50/15. The front suspension consists of: Hotchkis tubular A-arms, spindles out of a 1995 Chevy Caprice (which lowered the front end an inch and increased my rotor diameter to 11") and a PST Poly Front end rebuild kit with a 1 1/8" front sway bar. I also added Hotchkis 1" lowering springs to bring the rear end down. Lots of people are very confused as to what type of car this is due to the nose that I added from a 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2. I also added paintable fiberglass bumpers from Lauren Engineering and stripped every square inch of chrome trim with the exception of the window trim. I then had the car finished in Mercedes Medium Gray Metallic. There are currently no emblems on the car that identify what it is which adds to the stealthy image. You may wonder about my title? Well, since you have read this, you will have noticed that many parts from eight different cars make up the car you see now. With all of this diversity, most people have trouble identifying my car. Especially since the only thing original on the car is the metal body that makes up the car. So I call my car Wildcard and I have put personalized license plates on it that reads WLDCRD. I call it this because a wildcard can be anything. Although, I have often wondered what if Pontiac had built a GTO in the 80's. What would it look like? Maybe what I have built isn't far off? Thanks for your time and enjoy.

This is my 1984 Pontaic Grand Prix dubbed "Wildcard" parked in front one of the Air Force's F-16 Thunderbirds. I don't about you, but I think I'd have it beat! :)

Me and my car as I polish it up for the 2004 Pontiac Southern Nationals.
Wildcard is powered by a 350 TPI from a 1989 Iroc Z28, along with the 700R4 transmission and full wiring harness from the car. The picture on the right is after the battery relocation.

The nose on this car is from a 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 Aerocoupe. I added paintable fiberglass bumpers from Lauren Engineering to replace the chrome ones. Some future plans for the body is to have a set of fender vents from the Buick GNX installed and cut the bulge from a turbo regal hood and have it grafted into my hood.

I spent many hours as well as dollars to get just the right look and ride height. The wheels are Centerline Telstars with Nitto Drag radials on the rear and the Nitto Street tires on front.

Custom door panels and seats covered like the Grand National. Complete dash and center console from the 1989 Camaro Z28 with a B&M shifter.

Pic of the back seat.
I am constantly upgrading this car and I am sure that it will never be done, but check back as I will be posting new pics as work goes on!!
The next couple of pages will show what the car was and what car I originally started with.
