This engine is going to be used in a truck so I wanted lots of torque and the best way to do that is to add displacement. I picked out a 4340 Forged Crank with a 4.000-inch stroke, a set of 4340 H-beam rods that measured 6.200 inches, and a set of Forged Pistons from Probe. With the 4.060 bore, this netted me with 414 cubes. This combo is usually referred to a 408 stroker kit. The 58 cc combustion chamber and the dished pistons will give me a compression ratio of about 10:1.

Here is a picture of the difference between the truck oil pan and the dual sump pan (dual is in the front) that is needed to fit the Ranger chassis. The pan comes stock on 351 crown vics. You can also see above the oil filter relocation kit that will be needed for clearance as well.

- 4/1/04- While I am waiting for parts to come in I decided to focus on the outside of the truck. The chrome around the grill wasnt looking so good anymore so I removed it in preparation to be painted. I got the color code from the door and got some mixed up by my auto body supplier. I sanded the chrome down with some 120 then 400 and primed it. After primer I sanded it with 400 grit and made sure there were no contaminates on the surface. I got the best results using 4 parts enamel and 1 part thinner in my spray gun.
