I picked up a 351W out of a wrecked 1986 F-250. I quickly took it all apart and figured out exactly what I was going to use and what would go in the trash bin. Here it is right after I picked it up.

After I got the engine down to the bare block I inspected it for cracks and wear. The bores had a slight taper so it would need to be re-bored. Luckily there were no cracks. Here is a list of things done to it at the machine shop:
- Boiled and cleaned
- Bored to 4.060 with torque plates
- Honed for moly rings
- ARP Main studs installed
- Mains were align honed
- New plugs installed
- New cam bearings installed
-3/27/04- Here it is fresh from the machine shop and ready for a coat of paint

While it was at the machine shop I had the accessory brackets, valve covers, and some other parts powder coated.

I wanted more power out of this engine so I decided to shop around for some new cylinder heads. I found a good deal on some World Products Windsor SR iron heads. They have been re-released as the Roush 200 heads in case you were curious. I did a lot of work to these heads and had them flowed. They flowed a peak of 279 cfm on the intake and 198 on the exhaust. They use 2.02 and 1.60 valves on the intake and exhaust respectively. I am also using 1.550 diameter springs and stronger 7/16th rocker arm studs.
