I will be documenting the swap and going over exactly what is involved.

First off, a little history. After driving my 12 sec 91GT around for a winter I decided I NEEDED a winter vehicle. So I picked up this 94 Ranger.

The first thing I did was get rid of the mud flaps, bug-flector, rain guards, and visor. I never liked trucks with all that crap on them. The tires that came on the truck were very old and were beginning to crack. They were so dried out I could spin them in the rain even with the EXTREMELY low powered 2.9L v-6 under the hood. I wanted a bigger tire so I did a simple 2 in suspension lift and a 3 in body lift. The 33x12.5 Dunlop Radial rovers fit very nice now.

After driving the truck around for a few months I was getting really sick of the horrible acceleration. I would actually need to stare at the tachometer to see if I was accelerating. 5th gear was useless since I would slow down very fast even while flooring the truck and then need to shift back down to 4th. I also missed the rumble of a V-8. It was time for some more power.
