So then the engine blew...
I was driving down the highway when I heard a tap tap tap that led to a slap slap slap and then a stall. It was not cool.
So rather than having someone do it I decided to get an old rusted out parts truck with a good motor (pretty common in New England) and swap it in. The only hard part was changing the new motor from carburated to fuel injection.

I've done other stuff too like hubs (first time offroading got stuck in a corn field), steering stuff, brakes, etc but that comes with the teritory in buying a 17 or 18 year old car.
