1972 DATSUN 240Z

Battle of the Zs
Typical required rust repair for a 1972 240Z
First autocross event. Tired old L28 with SU carbs, Sway bars, R160 3.9 LSD, 15x7" wheels with 205/50-15 Yokohama 008RS II.
At speed on cut lowering springs.
3.0lt L series engine, ported and enlarged valve E88 head, 10.5:1 compression, Rebello racing cam, triple 45mm DCOE Webers, Nissan Motorsport header,MSD Ignition system with rev limiter, dual ignition timing switch, remote oil cooler and filter, custom radiator with electric fans.
15 x 7" Cheviot wheels.
Tokico adjustable struts, all new bushings, Coil over springs with 225 lbs/in front and 250 lbs/in rear. Adjustable upper and lower camber adjustments front and rear.
Dual exhaust system. Dual 2 1/2" pipes all the way from the header to the muffler. The upper tail pipe had a removable plug which allowed all of the exhaust to flow straight through the muffler. Made a great sound!
I also had an air/fuel ratio meter, engine oil and diff temp gauges, R200 3.9:1 R200 LSD
Wheels are now 15 x 8" Cheviot with Kumho Victoracer 225/50-15

At speed during a sun set run . Wilwood 12" rotors on the front and 280ZX rear disc brakes.
1972 DATSUN 510
13 x 6 Minilite knock-off wheels with 185/60-13 Pirelli CN36 tires.
Lowered using custom springs, Custom made sway bars, Toyota Supra brake rotors with Volvo calipers, 240Z drums on the rear.
L20B, 10.0:1 comp, ported SSS head, Canon header with 2" exhaust, dual 40 DCOE Weber carbs, slalom cam, bigger valves, lightened flywheel, roadster pressure plate, pickup truck 5 speed, R160 3.9:1 LSD.
At speed before I got the spring rates right.
Revolution wheels 13x7", eached wheel weighted about 6 lbs!
Custom dash that was more usefull than the stock unit. Custom roll cage to stiffen the car.
Mustang Cobra 15 x 7" wheels (with spacer/adaptor) with 205/50-15 Yokohama 008 RS II, slotted rear cross member and front camber plates.
