300ZX TWIN TURBO PROJECT CAR

300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z The pic on the right was from the 2003 National Z Car Convention autocross in New Hampshire. If you want to see it at speed goto: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdMx4l5ysRg

See it at a Solo2 regional here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdrKzofAjQ0

See my 300zxtt at the NHIS 2003 convention
300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z This car comes with a 24 valve DOHC 3.0Lt twin turbo engine, 5 spd transmission, power leather seats, t-bar roof, cruise, AC, PW, PS, adjustable shocks, 4 wheel steering, ABS brakes. It has many upgrades both for performance and convenience.

300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z For better looks and cooling I upgraded the front of the car with a Stillen urethane bumper cover/spoiler.

300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z This car always turns heads wherever it goes and I believe it is largely due to this new front-end look.
300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z The wheels where also upgraded to 17 with 245/45-17 Goodyear tires. Again contributing to this cars unique look.

300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z Several performance upgrades were done to this car to make the car go as well as it looks. It comes with the Stillen ECU upgrade and boost jets (14 psi boost), Stillen POP cold air in take, Unorthodox under drive pulley. It also has a custom built dual 2 exhaust system with a true "X" pipe and no cats. The precats were also gutted. The free flow mufflers give it the right sound without any unwanted restriction and the four 2 chrome tips let people know that this car can go as well as it looks. Turbo lag is almost non existent. The car will be sold with the original factory sytem with cats, resonators and mufflers to pass etest.

300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z The 2 turbos were replaced with new ones in 2004. New engine wiring harness, timing belt, water pump, thermostat and misc. hoses were all replaced at that time. I also upgraded the high-pressure turbo hoses to Stillen silicon hoses.
An auxiliary thermostatically controlled oil cooler was used to keep oil temps in check. The only oil used in this engine was always Mobil 1 synthetic oil.

300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z To keep track of all of the critical temperatures and pressures under the hood an Autometer Pyrometer and boost gauge where in stalled in the pillar.
300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z In the glove box there is a switch allowing you to switch the pyrometer gauge from left and right turbo temps as well as the air intake and oil temps. To keep the turbos in top form there is also an HKS turbo timer. A built in radar detector adds some piece of mind.
300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z I met Steve Millen at the 2004 National Z Car Convention in New Hampshire. Cool guy and he knows his Z's. He guesses from what's been done to the car that it would put out about 450 HP at the flywheel.
300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z My 300ZXTT at the shooting sequence of a "Sport Compact TV" episode.
300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z This is the largest rotor that could fit in the stock rear TT wheels when mounted on the front.
300_ZX_TT's 1972 Datsun 240Z They are from an '04 Maxima or Mirano, turned down to 12.5" dia. Clearance was so tight I had to grind the cast ribs from the inside of the stock rear TT wheels.
