Installation of Koni Yellow's Front Adjustable Shocks

Here's a quick picture of the Shock when I got them...

Go ahead and open up your hood and jack your car up. Remove the Front tires. There are 5 bolts at top, and 2 at the bottom to remove the front suspension. Do the same on the Driver's side

BOTTOM

If you haven't already changed your springs you'll need a spring compressor to compress your springs to disassemble the Suspension Assembly.

For those that have already lowered your car should be easier. Remove the Top Bolt from the Spring/Shock Assembly (Under pressure!!!)

Remove the Pillow Ball Mount, spring and the Spring Seat Off of the Original Shock (I used the original Spring Seat, because the one that came with the Koni's doesn't look like the spring completely sits on it... kinda looks like it could slip or something.)

**The way that I removed the OEM Sping Seat from the OEM Shock was placed it upside down and tapped it off with a hammer.

Ok now to prepare the Koni Yellow's

According to Koni's Instructions you have to pump the Shocks and Rotate them Clockwise when decompressing? Not really sure why, but what the heck they say to do it right?

**Make sure to do the same amount of pumping and rotating on both shocks.**
(I did about (3) pumps and a total of 720 Degree Rotation)

Place the OEM Spring Seat that you removed the same position it was from the original (Which is faced Down like an Upside down Cup)

**The OEM Spring Seat's hole is slightly bigger than the Diameter of the Koni's.. so it will slightly have some play. I would recommend either Welding it or using that Welding Glue you find at the Auto parts stores**

Then install the White Cap supplied from Koni

The Bump Stops will not fit right over the welded ring on the Koni Shock. You'll need to drill the hole of the Bump Stop slightly bigger to get it through. (I had ordered new ones becuase I cut mine in half when I had installed the SpringTech Coilovers. Also because I was going to use my Neuspeed Race Springs for the Front to match the rear) Then just place a washer that was supplied from Koni on top of the Bump Stop

On the Pillow Ball Mount you'll need to replace the Aluminum tube thing that the shock goes through so you would tighten the Spring/Shock Assembly. A Bigger one is supplied from Koni. Simple, the top and bottom rubber washer things come off and just slide the new wider tube through.

Notice how the one on the left is bigger.. that's the new one

Now place your spring on Shock (Line it up with the Spring Seat) and place the Pillow Ball Mount on top.

**Before tightening!! There is a Notch on the Koni shock towards the bottom.. Line that up with the bolt in the picture. This will ensure that you line up with the Frame of the car when reinstalling**

Now you could tighten the Spring/Shock Assembly back together. There are two bolts supplied from Koni to lock it down.

Now to reinstall it onto the car. Work the Spring/Shock assembly into position above and place a few bolts just to hold it up there. Remember that Notch, that needs to slide into that upside down U shaped thing. (LOL, sorry I don't know what these parts are called... I just know how to take it apart... LOL!) And tighten it into place. Then tighten up the lower part of it.

Then just do the same to the opposite side. :o)

When you're all done you could adjust the shock at the top using the knobs that comes with the shock. What I did to find out how much to turn... just rotate both to the lowest position then adjust them to whatever from there. So that way you know how much to turn. The only problem is the Strut Bar get's in the way while adjusting, so you can't really leave them installed.

I left mine at the lowest position and the ride is so much smoother! Feels almost like stock!

**I'm going to be ordering them for the Rear soon! So stay tuned for that!

**Install/Uninstall the Spring/Shocks at your own risk! I will not be liable for Damage or Injuries to yourself or vehicle**
