This is Herbie, my 1974
Super Beetle 1600 duel port. Named Herbie by girlfriends sister. (I wonder why?)
I bought it off the street for $2100
and have owned it since my senior
year in high school.(2 years)
Exterior color is metallic Blue, as
opposed to the original powder blue,
is once was. Interior is black with blue APC-Racing seats(installed after picture was taken), Empi trigger shifter,
and empi header system on a second rebuilt engine. Also, rebuilt engine included oilmount and filter.
Quick off the line, I managed to trash a fair amount of the idiot ricers.
Previous owner mentioned bringing it up from
some where down south, but nothing else.
I still consider it in the 'restoration in
progress' stage, yet it is a reliable
daily driver, when i'm home and not
up at school at SUNY Purchase.
