1988 Mustang!
1988 Mustang-2!
First short Movie!!!
All I can say is... It feels good to be boosted
Update:(Apr29/05) Took the car for a spin! Wastegate works, BOV Works. Car did not blow up(Thats always good) Idles like crap! But it goes like hell!
Update:(Feb/05) I took the motor out in Feb(With help from Steve and Mark, Thanks) to clean the engine bay and get the oil pan drilled for the oil return line(used JB Weld as a sealer around the fitting). That is all done now and the engine is back in the car. I flipped the headers while the engine was out and I must say, a lot easier when the engine is out of the car. I have all I need for the oil feed and drain(Just need to get a flange made for the drain off the turbo). I also put the new walbro fuel pump in the tank, did it by myself, what a job! I will be putting the tranny and clutch back in the car this week and want to start it, to see if it still runs!LOL!
Well I got the urge to put a turbo on my car when I felt it was not fast enough (LOL!). I have done TONS of reading(and I still need to do more)and have been buying some things here and there. So far, my list is as follows: Turbo, BOV, Wastegate, Bigger fuel pump, FMU, Intercooler, Some Mandrel bent pipe(Need a lot more!), various flanges and clamps and a Boost & EGT Guage.
Here is a couple pics of what I have delivered so far:

Here is an order I just placed with Turbo Performance System:

Thanks goes to Spenc at 2Koolperformance for the guages, a-pillar pod and trunk mount battery kit!

Here is all I have(or have to do):
The turbo
60-1 "P" Trim
TO4 ' P ' Trim Turbine wheel - 64.5mm / 78mm
Super 70 Compressor wheel - 60.5mm / 84mm
.70a/r Compressor housing
.68a/r T4 Exhaust housing
Done!A custom(and when I say custom I mean a hacked up homemade contraption, that hopefully will work) crossover will be made to bring the exhaust gasses from the passenger side header to the driver side where the Turbo will be mounted. A custom Y-pipe connected to the T4 inlet flange I have will bolt to the turbo. I will be hacking up my long tube headers to get my O2 sensor bungs.
Done!An oil filter adapter will be used to move the filter out of the way.
Done!Blitz DD Blow off valve
Done!Custom Coach Front mount Intercooler (31*8*2.75) Monted in front of the Rad.
Done!Procharger 12:1 FMU with some check valves before the BAP sensor
Done!only a temp down pipe for nowIt will have a custom 3" downpipe. It uses a 3" v-band style of flange. The LT I will be cutting up means I will have some collectors for my easy access switch to a muffler to get a sticker. just take the 3" straight pipe off and bolt on a 2.5 reducer with one of my mufflers welded to it!
Done!Walbro 255 high pressure in-tank fuel pump
Done!Tial 38mm wastegate put on the crossover before the turbo. It will dump into the atmosphere. I will use some pipe I got for free at Speedy to make the gases go out of the engine bay. It has a 6psi spring in it, I will prob get a MB controller down the road, but for now I just want to get it working.
Autometer boost and EGT guages will be used for now. The EGT probe will be mounted in the downpipe after the turbo. I might get a Fuel pressure and A/F guage later... I also have a 5" monter tach to install.
I will also be rebuilding my posi trac which will help a little on starts.
Done! The battery will be moved to the trunk.
Done! For the oil feed and return line. I used 3/16 brake line for the feed and 3/4 hose for the drain. Teed off the oil sending unit and put a fitting in the pan for the drain.
Here are just some new pics I uploaded:

Here are are some new pics! First pic is of when I fired it up! Started on first try! The next few are of a test fit of the turbo on a crossover.

Update: Got the intercooler mounted, perfect fit! Awesome Intercooler Thanks to Custom Coach! I am now in the process of getting everything to fit. It is a super tight squeeze in the area of the oil filter! I also have all I need for my oil feed and drain! Here are some pics I took April 9/05:

Here is a pic of the crossover I will be using. Just got the Wastegate welded on! Thanks Brent! Also just put a light coating of high temp silver paint to it as well.

Car is done(Major parts anyway)and has been driven on the street for one week. Here are some pics from today:
