This is my first ever car and i must say i was pleased with the colour! The only things i have changed on the exterior are the wheel trims. There's a bit of rust around the rear wheel arches which i'm fixing soon.
And i got rid of a stupid garage sticker from the rear window too
I decided to remove the old speakers which were knackered and replace them with some brand new Kenwoods. Not very high power handling, but i was going for the lowest priced ones at the time. They didn't fit in the old speaker holes, so an area had to be cut in the door trims for them.
The image above is actually an old image, and since it was taken larger speakers have been added in their place.
Update: Since going away to University the car got broken into. The person responsible did a bit of damage to the lock but didn't manage to take anything. However, they did rip out the wiring to my subs and rear speaker so i lost power to 2 rear shelf speakers and one sub.
Since this, all plans for upgrading the audio have been scrapped. The subs are being removed and the parcel shelf is left dead.
But i'll be back!

Hi, i have a metro '92 C and have just instaled two Alpine SXE-1750S 17cm component speakers in the door panels. Like you i had the same problem with their depth interfeering with the window frame but instead of attaching them to the mesh cover i drilled in a wooden frame to pull them out a bit if you get what i mean. The only problem is that i still have the original radio and wiring. This means that there is
A. Little Bass and bad quality (obv i just need a new radio)
B. intermittent cut'outs in the sound when im driving. It seems like this is to do with a loose connection but i cant find any!!
do you have any suggestions, any help would be appreciated.
p.s. do you know of any other simple things i could do to spice up my metro, ive become quite attached to it but would like to improve, especialy if there are some simple performance mods. i can do, im no mechanic but i do have a brain :)
Thanks a heluva lot,
James Andren
