Dec. 06: First job of the winter.
Here you can see the blue 24# injectors and 76mm MAF. (These should compliment the cam soon to come.)

Jan. 06: Just finished this one
This MSD 6 AL ignition went in pretty easily and has really improved idle and starting qualitly.
I look forward to seeing what it does for my top end as well.

Feb. 05:
Currently I have my old cam out and am getting everything ready for these new parts.
This is an FRPP E303 cam, it's a good street cam with power through 6,000 RPMs and retains good idle quality.
Everything is going well so far. I just need to clean up the timing cover and gasket surfaces. Then I'll slide the new cam in, reassemble the front of the engine, bolt down the new roller rockers, and we'll get to hear what an E303 cam sounds like.
These time saving tools have a magnet on the end of them. All you do is reach down and grab each lifter and lift it off of the cam. Then you tighten down the wing nut to suspend the lifter over the cam. Now you can slide the cam out without removing the lower intake and lifter tappets. Well worth the $50 from Anderson FordMotorsports if you ask me.
THANKS FOR THE TIP 5.0 MAGAZINE!

Slid the new cam in, and put on the new timing chain and gears, then I Tourqued down the new roller rockers and set the lifter preload. Now just valve covers and upper intake stand in the way of fire'n her up.

Fired her up today (Apr. 6) The cam actually made a bigger difference than I expected. As I turned the key I wondered if I had the cam aligned correctly, the lifters preloaded correctly and the distributor set up right, all things I've never done before. I turned the key and it fired up instantly. The cam really gave it a lopey idle, and throttle response seems noticable snappier. I'll have it registered Monday and finally get to see what kind of difference the cam made!!!
I am planning on installing a set of TrickFlow Twisted Wedge aluminum heads for this summer. TrickFlow installed these heads on a Cobra 5.0, which has #24 injectors larger T.B. and MAF all of which I have, with an E303 cam and the GT-40 intake, then they put it on the dyno. It made over 350 ft/lbs of torque and over 327 HP (at the rear wheels.) Check out (Summit page #132) I have the E303 cam and the TrickFlow intake which probably flows alittle better than the GT-40, so I am confident that those are the numbers I'll be looking at. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to this summer.
