This is the begining of a beautiful thing. This is a mold of my spare tire well using Fiberglass mat, and resin. i laid plastic down in the well before i fiberglassed it. Doing this will make the mold removable, and won't bond itself to the car.

If you look closly, you will notice a black line around the upper part of the mold. While the mold was in the car, i marked where i was going to trim it. After i trimmed it, it was time to calculate air space for the sub(s). Obvioulsy by the shape if this mold, you can't just grab a tape measure, and calculate like an ordinary sub box. I used a mothod that consisted of filling the mold up with water 2 liters at a time, and converting it to ft3. The total air space(not counting speaker dislacement, port displacement or a build up that i my do) is 1.41 ft3 to the top of the mold. The spare is going to sit on top of the sub box, so i can build up from the top of the mold to inside the wheel. I'll probably just make it 1.5 ft3, since i could a ton of cominations in that amount of space.
