OK, here we go. i hope your all of you are sitting down, because you are about to witness something not even I thought would happen to my Baby!
This all started in January of 2004. Back in September & October of 2003, i was at the track every single Tuesday night, and sometimes on friday nights. ABot mid October my buddy calls me and tells me to wait for an xrta 30 min. before i head to the track. He shows up in his Buick Regal which ran 13.80's, and he installed Nitrous on it, so he wanted to take it out, and see what she could do. Naturally we, we are messing around on the way to the track (which is a 35 min. drive from my house).
My 1st run at the track was a 13.15 @ 20psi. i was happy with that run considering i had a bad launch. my 2nd run was a 13.01 at the same amount of boost. i stage for my 3rd run, and when i launch i can tell somethings wrong...like i have no boost, so i keep my foot into it until i shift to 2nd, and i see my boost gauge is at 10psi. i reach down to the boost controller, and turn it to setting 3 (24psi), and nothing happend. so i finish the 1/4 and pull around to the pits. i adjust the greddy type R bov, and stage again. this time its won't boost past 15psi in 2nd, and after i shift into 3rd, its stuck at 10psi., and it starts to studder, so i let out, and ease it the rest of the way. Something was jacked with the greddy!
The next day (wed) I switch my bov for my buddies type s, and head back to the track. the whole way there it was boosting to 20psi, and i turned the boost up to see if it would hold, and it did.
1st run was a 13.01 @ 20psi, 2nd run was a 13.00 @ 20psi, and on the third run, i wanted to get back into the 12's, so i turn the boost up t0 24psi. my 1-2 shift was awesome, and on my 2-3 shift, my tranny crapped out on me. the shifter was stuck in the 3rd gear position, and wouldn't move. i turned the car off, YANKED it out of gear, and put it in 2nd, and drove to the pits.
The GSX went home on a flat bed that night, and the tranny went off to TRE in Kalamazoo, Michigan. while the tranny was away, this is what happend..........
As you can see, i have decided to COMPLETLY start from scratch. My stock 7 bolt was pushing 125k, and i basically wanted to CLEAN everything up. the under hood was trashed, and 'ghetto' and i didn't feel proud to open my hood even though i had a big turbo.
