Hey everyone, this is my 2004 Volvo S80 2.9 ASR (ASR= Automatic with Sunroof) w/ Premium, Touring, and Climate Package, as well as Graphite sport leather and sunroof. And it's from Sweden.
It has a 2.92 Liter Inline 6 cylinder engine with DOHC and variable valve timing on the inlet end. It is connected to a 5 speed GM automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Logic and Torque converter lockup, and is front wheel drive.
Suspension includes
Macpehrson Strut, 19mm stabilizier bar, assymetrically mounted coils springs and hyrdraulic shocks, among other things.
Also, it has the new Speed Sensitve Steering system developed by ZF North America (http://www.zf-group.com).
The brakes on this car are unbeleviable, but the dust is unbeleviably annoying! The ABS/EBA system consists of Front ventilated disc and rear disc brakes. The stopping power of this car is the best I have ever driven, and the brake pedal is extremely sensitive.
Also, to keep the car on the road in adverse conditions, it is equipped with Volvo's Stability and Traction Control System (STC), and Winter Mode.
Here are some other technical specifications (from Volvo website).

Some more specifications...

NA engines have the aluminum overhead intake manifold, which I think gives a good look.
In my opinion, the 2.9 NA version of the S80 gets no respect simply because of the very fast Dual Turbo T-6 version, which is a beast on the highway. At low RPM, the difference between the 2.9 and the T-6 is not very noticeable. It is in the midrange RPM, where the T-6's turbos spool up, that the difference is found. However, I find the 2.9 to be a pretty powerful car, especially around 3800 RPM. Surprisingly, for a normally aspirated engine, this car can really launch from a stop and will get to 40mph in a flash.

Rear, new Bumper Gaurds. Also, LED tailights.
Also shown here is the Heico Sportiv exhaust offered for the S80. I think this look is awesome, and really makes the S80 look sporty. However, I find the stock 'hidden' exhaust actually gives off a nice sound upon acceleration. The only thing I can't understand is why Volvo didn't make the exhaust on the car visible, something like the Audi A6 or BMW 525 (imagine the M5 exhaust!). In my opinion, for the money this car should have a nice chrome tipped dual exhaust instead of a hidden single exhaust.

Front view, new "eggcrate" grill for 2004.

Switchblade key, remote.

Titanium Instrument Cluster Bezels.
These bezels are new for the 2004 6cyl models, and in my opinion, are one of the best new features in this car. The illumination at night includes light blue backlight LED's and two "spotlight" LED's that are mounted above the speedometer and tachometer and shine down on the gauges, giving them a light blue tint.

Wouldn't be a Volvo without headlamp wipers!
