Page 1: My Rides!
*The Low Down*
This is my 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport It's blue with the 351C 4V Engine and blue interior, I received it November 2003 from my grandfather who passed away Nov. 23, 2003. Everything is completely original and it has 89,000 actual and original miles, but that is set to change.
*What I'm gonna do to it*
Future upgrades:
I have been looking at some rims here lately just checking out what's on the market for a good price.
I've been tinkering with PAINT for a while and i'm trying to decide if i want sport wheels, or "nearly" drag, not quite like these but i DO want the car so "SIT" just like this:
*Exterior*
The only exterior damage is a VERY small rust spot on the passenger door, barely noticed in the pic on the right...right at the CORNER...paint is faded but, hey...it's been sitting for 15 years...that's what weather will do to a car...
The driver side door handle on the driver side has been fixed.
I have a new steering wheel pad and horn and steering assembly installed.
The chrome eyelids have been finally fixed along with new headlight assembly.
New Exhaust (Flowsound with turndown), this is actually going to change after I put headers on the car.
I've installed some new battery cables, lights and sockets for entire car, fixed the gauge display, I've have a BRAND NEW radiator ready to go in as soon as the support frame is fixed.
Bought some new blue vinyl for the rear window board and that has been fixed.
Bought a full engine dress up kit, replaced and refinished the emblem on the trunk.
The new intake manifold and carburetor and air cleaner have been completely installed and finished...IT'S NICE!
The car is in great running shape except it's now blown a head gasket, this is going to be removed and replaced along with new valve stem seals and probably piston rings. I'm going to have the heads sent to be refinished, hopefully soon.
Plus i've ran across these and actually found out how much they are worth, so i might think about selling them with the right price tag, so all u guys wanting these ORIGINAL 1972 Ford Torino 14" wheel covers, put up ur $50 bills and talk to me when u've got more, cuz i know what they're worth, they're in great condition and only one is broke, very minor piece is missing, check 'em out!
*Interior*
Seats ARE ORIGINAL!And the carpet has been eaten up by dirt and some battery acid but it will be completely replaced soon enough.
Updated:
I've started working on putting in some new carpet so i've taken it out and started. here's some pics of the construction:
The roof of the interior is spotless and like new, some of the chrome trim is in need of some attention but it's not really noticable. Radio works and speakers are in decent condition, sun damaged is about all. These are going to be replaced with 2 new Jensen 6x9's in the rear window, "MAYBE" 6" door speakers and a new AIWA CD player.
*ENGINE*
Here's a shot of the 351 Cleveland
My first step to my reconstruction of the car, new parts include and installed are Gasline, Distributor cap, Rotor Button, plug wires, plugs, new points, valve cover gaskets and reconditioned valve covers(OLD FORD BLUE), new vacuum lines, oil filter and change, I've raised the rear end up 2 1/4 inches with some spring boosters which will be replaced with new springs soon.
Early Shot
Newer Shot with reburbished breather and valve coversHere's some pics of the resto-modification process:
Soon to come!
Pics of my dad's '64 Galaxy w/ 390 High Performance bored to a 402ish...edelbrock valve covers, headers, intake manifold, 650 cfm carb, new wheels, glasspacks exhaust, drag racing suspension(guess why...hint hint), interior is almost flawless besides the small place in the front seats, new paint job, and bumpers are refinished with new chrome!
