Here are details on how to install LED's in the interior of an NA Miata.

First step is to purchase these:

www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002S9ZRE/nextag-auto-20/ref=nosim

They are cheap, bright, and fit perfectly.

Step # 1 - Remove from package:

Step #2 - Remove the metal jackets:

Step #3 - Insert the LED into the visor plug. The visor plug is held into the windshield header by two phillips screws. Remove the plug and install like this:

Step #5 - Clip the cigarette adaptor using wire cutters and remove the shielding from the wire to expose the ground (found just inside the shielding) and the +ive (inside more shielding). Be careful, this wife is very thin and is easy to remove more wire than you wanted!

Step #6 - Now it is time to solder the wire provided with the lights to an extension wire. I purchased a huge bulk role of 18ga wire from Princess Auto for $7.99. Then wrap the -ive wire around one piece of extension and the +ive wire around a 2nd piece and solder as shown.

Looks good. I am gathering the parts to do the same thing. Bought a 90 GT (wrecked) that I am tearing down. Plan to purchase the Miata come spring 08. Any help, advice, information, more pictures, etc would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

HEy HEy!!! I love the concept of putting a 302 ford engin in a miata... I`m thinking about making the swap... I would like to have some comment about the driving... I would like to know if you ran into big troubles or situations that took you longer than you thought... Give me some advise!!!!

Thanks a lot!
Have a great day!
