My 15th Anniversary Hurst/Olds, Drove to philly to go and get it with my road trip homey, Andy. It was originally his but we tradad, He now owns my old 86 442 on page 4. This Hurst was purchased on ebay, planned on going to get it so Andy rented a trailer from U-Haul and they hooked it up. I rode along shooting footage along the way as I always do on the road and we get to where the car is in Philadelphia and we go to put the car on the trailer and it comes unhooked from the ball. We were all like DAMN!!!! Here we are driving a 96 Suburban tank from Detroit to Philadelphia with the trailer half ass hooked up, driving through the valleys, bridges, clouds and mountain sides and nothing happened!!! Then on the way back we took a wrong turn and almost ended up in New York. We made it home though. It's always good to see those Detroit signs, were back!

This car was a mess when I got it, But it will be one of the baddest cars I will ever do.
The stock 307 threw a rod and still ran! Not that well of course but it would go around a couple revolutions and stop.
The floors look worse than they really are.
but now they look good!
When I ground all the paint and surface rust away, I was really suprised. When I hit the paint under that back seat, WOW did it stink like piss from the mice. Those little suckers do damage just peeing on stuff!
I popped the whole fromt clip off to replace the core support since the other one was all dented up and to also start on the fenders and header panel. Modern Stripping of Clinton Twp, MI did all the media blasting on the new core support and inner fenders and they do an EXCELLENT JOB!!!It's discolored from the metal prep chemical.
I was getting ready to powerwash the frame and prep the floors, Those pic's will be up soon.
Polyurethane bushings are getting installed soon, prepping the frame for paint and a little repair work on the front 2 body bushings, Painted the core support.
The frame before...
The frame after, I had to machine these down a 1/4 inch on the lathe to fit in there right.
I painted up the frame and was working on cleaning the frame on the rear of the car this day.
Pulled the rear bumper apart to get media blasted and found more dead mice, check it out.
I boxed a set of controll arms that I had extra and after I was done, In went the polyurethane bushings. Hopefully I'll have the underside done soon!
I found some rust in the driver wheel well that was getting pretty bad so I forced my self to cut it all out and replace it with new, thicker steel(16 Gauge) This was the worse part of the whole car, still no big deal, I'm going to be glad I did it in the long run, It just puts me behind schedule a little.
Just got done stripping all of the undercoating off of the bottom of the trunk and grinding all the paint off on the inside N bottom and painted it all with the por-15 paint. I also finally have the body sitting on those brand new polyurethane body bushings and that fully painted frame. Finally!!!Those pic's will be here soon.
I repaired the rust around the rear corner window by cutting out the piece I needed from a 442 parts car and welded it in my car. Keep a 1/16" gap in the metal when you fit something like this, you want the weld to get between the 2 pieces so you know you get a good weld. I curved the corners so there would be no corners to crack if there were some stress at any point.
driver side
This car is almost ready for paint. Pass side, These quarter windows are bad spots for rust but I fixed the problem with a little molten metal from the mig welder.
The quarter panel before.....
and after....
It's winter and I'm outside shooting primer, well it was a warm 40 degree winter day so I got away with it.

Summer 2006, I worked on miscelaneous parts and planned the suspension out. I'm starting out with the rear end install. I will get pic's of it complete in a week or so but here's the pic's.
Everything was cleaned thuroughly before I painted. Laquer thinner takes that undercoating right off, then I scuffed it up with a die grinder and painted.
Also thanks to my friend Chad for the help on moving this mammoth rear end around!!!!
Rear End Installed.
6-16-07 I finally finished up the passinger side door. I stripped off the paint using aircraft paint stripper, Welded up the holes where the chrome trim was and grinded off the pegs that hold on the trim. This door is perfect!
Summer of 08, I didn't get all that much done on it but most of the time spent was trying to locate a few parts I needed and a drivers door and hood were them.
The cowl hood in the pics was sold. I found an aluminum hood that I still need to strip off the paint on but I will this spring. I mounted the original scoop and it is starting to look like something...
So far, so good.
Here are the pic's of the hood . Cool paint job on it, It will be stripped and primed in the spring. It's aluminum so I have to get some primer for aluminum. I have no Idea how I was able to get an aluminum hood but that's fine with me. The car I took it off of was an 81. My guess is that they may have ran a handfull of them in that year or something but they do exist!
I also picked up the engine for the car. It's a 355 Chevy. I know all the olds guys will probibally get on me about this but you can make a chevy make more power for less money than you can an olds. This one makes 530 H.P. and spins to 8k R.P.M. It has been balanced, block x-rayed, deck paralled, and line honed. It has 6" rods in it, forged crank and rods. It will also run on ethonol E-85.I still need a few things for it.

This car will be at this stage for a while.... I will pick at here and there this summer. It would be a miracle if I get it painted but I will try....NEVER GIVE UP THOUGH!!! I got a lot done allready considering the times...
