i bought my nissan 200sx (s12 silvia) in may of 2003. the original asking price was $1800, but it really needed a lot of work. i ended up paying $450 (shows how much work was needed!). here are some shots of the car after i picked it up. notice the wheels on one side are bronze and silver on the other side? the bronze side are old rust/brake dust deposits. the car was (and still is) very rusty. fasteners don't come out. they break.
altho everything is very rusty, the main frame seems to be ok. there's a lot fo surface rust, but nothings rotted thru. all the suspension has to be replaced soon tho.
