Well after nearly a year and a half of almost no progress, I am planning to pick up the cj restoration again, starting this spring.
My plan was always to restore the Cj to nearly orig. condition, and have it live out its next stage in life as the plow rig for my camp. But I have recently decided to build it to become my weekend rig/offroader.
After purchasing the cj, I've had 2 Isuzu Amigo's, one I used for light offroad duty. I now have an 89 Montero SWB that I had planned on building into a good dd/weekend offroader, but due to the lack of aftermarket parts, I've turned away from it.
So throughout this winter I will be accumulating parts for the Jeep, and this spring will do a week-a-thon of work during my spring break.

Well it has begun, first step to begin this project was to get the garage clean, not a small task at all.
Whoo thats better
After that I was free to start the body work. So on 4/17 I started.
More pictures as the week unfolds.

Didn't get much done, just too nice of a day so we went for a joy ride in the TJ.
Update 6/4/06
New 8th Inch rockers have been installed. They came as 8" tall, 8" wide 5' sheets of steel with a 90 degree bend in each. We then cut the wheel wells, door, and old gas tank thing on drivers side. We burnt out a skill saw in the process, so we'll be doing the passengers side later.
Some updates, got a new tranny and t-case for the heep. A t-176 and dana300, also cut out the passengers side rocker panel, and made a new battery tray out of scrap.
