90Amigo's 1972 Jeep CJ5
Well well, in the light of my future spring rebuild, I decided it was time to revamp the cj's site.

I'll start with some background info.
My father purchased this Jeep for me going on 2 years this February, as my first vehicle. The crazy thought at the time was to restore it for my DD by May....yeah. Its a 1972 CJ5 with the 4.2L 258 engine, d30 front, think an amc 20 in the rear (I think). It had been sitting for god only knows how many years, and had 60,000 miles on it. It came equuiped with a nice hydrolic plow, and a sweet little rotating light on top. The seats were a mess, the floors were gone, and there was insultation and dead mice in the Tool box (why insultation I will never know) The gastank had been bypassed and it fed from a can in the passengers seat. Engine ran smooth, frame was and still is solid as a rock, and I thought it was pretty freaking sweet.
Then the restoration took a bad turn, then slowed down, then stopped completely, and the jeep really hasn't been touched in more than a year. We finished the floors except the tranny cover, did all bodymounts except one, and got the engine running perfectly.
I have since then gotten into the hobby of offroading, and have wheeled my past Amigo a few times, and had planned on wheeling my current Montero, but the lack of an aftermarket, and the fact that its my DD put an end to that idea. So what am I to do? Duh I have a perfectly good Jeep just sitting out behind my uncles. So now I will collecting parts this winter, and having a week long wrench-a-thon this spring to make it into a somewhat capable trail rig.

Here are some pictures of it when I first got it.
