As the Phoenix is not a well known Pontiac, someone once told me, "A Phoenix huh? Maybe if you burn it, it will come back as something beautiful" I never did take there advice, and i think i did a pretty good job with out burning anything. Pontiac History: Pontiac introduced the Phoenix in 1977 as a more luxurious version of the Lamans. It held the X-body style till 1980 when it took on a bit of an eye sore kind of body style, then it was replaced in 1985 by the Grand Am. The Phoenix and I: This Phoenix was my first car at the age of 18. For $1200.00 with 71k miles, it just sounded right. Not to mention i wasnt any bit of a gearhead at this point in my life, but that didnt last long.Engine, Exterior, interior, drivetrain, all of these were not to my satifaction. Though this car was ment to be your easy on gas, smooth riding luxury car, in this day of age, it needed some work.
