1971 Porsche 914

I have owned this car since 1984, it was my first Porsche, originally Sunflower yellow, this car and I have gone through a lot together. Over 10 years of spirited driving, 1 previous minor restoration and then a decade of having it sit as a rolling shell because the longitudinals began to give way. In between I got married, had a daughter, moved everyone including the car to Italy, stuffed the rolling chassis in a garage there, and then moved to South Florida, had a son, bought a house or two, rolled her around some, and then decided it is time to finish her off! 10 years into it I hope to finish it shortly. So far I have stripped the car to bare metal, replaced the floorpan & Strenghtened the Longitudinals, replaced the lower rear firewall, powdercoated all the suspension parts engine tin and other bits, Replated all the fasteners and mechanical parts that was originally yellow or silver zinc coated, and new rubber seals all around. I am installing a new interior, new carpet set, upholstry and then will finish her. you will have to stay tuned and see her become beautiful again!Much more to come!

SoFloPorsche's 1971 Porsche 914 Yes the Odometer reads zero, it is a ground up and I will always have her...So I get to put the first mile on again!
SoFloPorsche's 1971 Porsche 914 Rear suspension, Resprayed adjustable Koni shocks, Powder coated Trailing arms and bright red springs. It looks clean and fresh!
SoFloPorsche's 1971 Porsche 914 Interior is nearly complete notice the color matched guage cluster, and the brushed aluminum dash inserts. I fabricated these from a roll of brushed aluminum "look" film from a company called Flexcon. The 914 never came like this originally. But it adds a look of early 911 and a bit of the modern porsche design elements. I also added a small Porsche crest on the glove box door. More pix to come!
SoFloPorsche's 1971 Porsche 914 The front windshield is in place! It took many years, and many moves to get to this point, but it is now close to completion. If you need a windshield for your 914 contact Automobile Atlanta They are the only ones who will have a new windshield...the cost is reasonable $270 + shipping and not to hard to put in place with two people!

this is nice 914, the teal in the silver metallic looks good, especially with the italian style front lenses. and the spoiler, not being molded into the body is great choice. (every fiberglass spoiler molded in turns into a disater after a year)

nice, check out mine when it done

Nice car! I saw you are in Florida. You should check out www.FloridaGerman.com. It's a car club for German car enthusiasts in Florida. We have regular meets and would be great to see the car! See you there!

andy, i forgot to ask, do you know ANY info on the rims that you have on the silver 914, i have the identical ones on my 914 (15 x 5.5). people have told me that they came from the dealer, since my 1973 914 was one of the first 1000 produced.

any info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks so much, kenny
