Received this car from parents on 16th Birthday. Car had roughly 186,000 miles on the odometer. I put in a CD player and some speakers. This was my high school car; I did fun high school stuff in it. I wrecked the car in January of 2000 with 212,000 miles on it. That was a sad time.
The name Rustang came from all the rust, that you can't see. Plus, the passanger-side hubcap was lost and instead of buying a $70 replacement, I went to Wal-Mart and picked up a $10 one that rusted the first winter.
I tried to fix her up a little. I ended up buying new wheels (which can be seen in the wrecked pic) and attempting to get a new hatch (old one rusted), but the place I was getting it from kept damaging the ones I was getting, so I gave up. Guess it worked out for the best, look what happened to the hatch!

Bought this car after I wrecked previous. Car had 169,000 miles on the odometer. Engine was bad so my Dad, Brother, and I swapped the engine in favor of the red Mustangs engine. Car was great. This was my first car that I really bought stuff for. I spent somewhere near $2200.00 accessorizing it. From wheels to tint to dual exhaust, I did what you could to a four-banger. I drove it to Florida in winter of 2002. It didnt make it down. Burnt a valve up and had headwork done. Sold car in April of 2002 to my brother Brian for $1000.00.
This was probably my best looking car, in my opinion. Many times it was mistaking for a 5.0. It had a good sound for a 4-cylinder. I can remember many nights on the street when a Camaro or Trans-Am would pull up, ready to race, and I had nothing to offer.
After I sold the car to my Brother, he wrecked it. Tragic, must be a curse of that engine. He ended up grafting a '86 LX bumper cover on the front. He put some American Racing wheels on and started driving it again. He bought a F-150, and the car finally quit. We donated it to charity.

Bought this car from my Dads cousin. It was in really nice shape. Had 111,400 miles on the odometer. It is the second car I actually bought and my first 5.0 V8. I thought it was only getting 14 mpg, but I looked at the receipt wrong; it is really getting 20+ mpg and I now know the fuel light comes on with almost 5 gallons left not 2.
I would like to do so many things to this car. She needs some care. A lot of the parts are close to being original. I used to want to do a bunch of mods to this car, but over past few years I have come to appreciate the car in near-stock form. I still would like to replace a lot of things on the car, but nothing far from stock. I enjoy the car for what she is, a 1986 Mustang GT.
