This is the 1988 Pontiac 6000. It only has 106,000 Km on it (60,000 mi.)
So I thought "what the heck, I'll try to pretty it up". I haven't started much
yet... All I have done is changed the grille and added the fog lights from a
1991 6000LE. This car had the plain 2 headlight setup with the wide all-chrome
grille, which I didn't like too much. So I like the new grille and headlights.
The next step will be the tail lights. I'm going to get the nicer looking
taillights from a newer LE or STE. This will involve moving the rear license
plate down to the rear bumper between the bumperettes and adding license plate
lights there. That chore will be done in the next few weeks. I'm also keeping my
eyes open for a spoiler from a 82-92 Camaro or Trans-Am. Oh, I also painted the
bumper moulding. It was one of the ones with a silver body and black bumper
mouldings, but I thought that made it look older than it was, so I painted them
silver to match the car. It's amazing the difference a can of paint can make
around the bumpers!
Keep in touch to see the new pictures as the car makes it's
transformation!
