Do-it youself, homemade mods:
(im a bit of a cobbler so im sure some of this stuff can be done nicer and neater than i can do it)

Homemade Ram Air.
(this mod shaved .2 seconds off my E.T from stock!)

I first removed the baffles and cut out the bottom of the filter-tray. Then I screwed 3" PVC elbows into the fog-light housing. (You don't need to remove fog-lights. I just wanted maximum airflow.) I then used dryer ducting and duct tape to plumb out the rest. I recommend using a washable filter because you will suck in alot more bugs. Use a heavier coat of filter oil if you have to drive in wet conditions at highway speeds. (if you scrap the foglights you can use the foglight switch andpower the electric fan that doesn't turn on until 220 degrees.)

Throttle Body coolant bypass:

This is a free mod I got from www.thirdgen.org This is the site you need to check out if you have a 82-92 firebird/camaro (F-body)

"From what I have read GM incorperated this into the throttle body to prevent any kind of freezing of the TB valve in extreme cold conditions by having water from the cooling system run through it.
This heats up the throttle body quite a bit (just try touching the "Tuned Port Injection" plate after a long drive) and from what I understand there is a possibility that the incoming air may be warmed slightly.
You want the air going into your intake system as cool as possible I've heard, cooler air has more density, that's all I know.
There are two ways to do this, both have the same results, I will cover both in this article and you can decide which is to your liking.
NOTE: If you live in an area where extreme cold conditions exist I would not recommend this procedure."
2quikk4u's 1991 Chevrolet Camaro The above diagram shows the "quick" method using a hard tube (approx. 5\8") to connect the existing hoses using clamps.
This takes little time to do, however if you are a stickler for details as I am this looks like a quicky job.
I simply got a new piece of 5/8" hose with a built in (90 degree) elbow, and ran it from the black plastic heater control valve/diverter and down to the intake manifold outlet this took about 10" of hose to do and looks much better!
NOTE: Place the elbow end of the new hose at the intake outlet.
Now after you have everything back togther take you car out for nice long drive and when you get back, open the hood and feel the TB, it's cool to the touch!
You can leave the water outlets on the TB open if you wish, or do what I did!
I got some new 5/8" hose and from the left side TB water outlet ran the hose over past the battery through the fender and down under the battery tray , attacthed a small pickup funnel to the end of the hose and mounted it to the fender support bracket facing forward for maximum air pick up.
Then another piece of 5\8" hose from the right side TB water outlet ran next to the upper radiator hose, down next to the radiator and under the car, pointing rearward.
What this does basically is "air cools" the TB housing while your driving, I don't have the air volume specs if there is any to take in the first place, it's just an idea I had and I decided to try it."

Smog Pump delete.. (this mod shaved .1 seconds and 25lbs of junk under the hood!)

All I did was buy a 2-inch shorter serpentine belt. Use these pics as a diagram for re-routing your belt. This mod also cleans up the engine bay. (This is for off road use only;)

Battery relocate to trunk. This makes the weight distribution in your car better, and adds traction. This pic is outdated, please use a battery box if you want it track legal.

Homemade NOS bottle heater

2quikk4u's 1991 Chevrolet Camaro

Bottle pressure is very important to your nitrous systems performance. I was running 1/2 second slower on the spray before i did the bottle heater mod. For best results i keep the bottle at 900 psi, which i get at a bottle temp of about 90 degrees F. The kits in Summit are about $130 and come with a thermostat and a 12 volt powered heater. I made mine for about $40 with stuff you can get at Wal-mart. You will need a heating pad, a 12v to 110 power converter, and an accessory power inlet (cigarette lighter female end). Since my bottle is in the trunk, i didn't want a long cord going back from the dash, so i wired up the accessory inlet to my battery in the trunk and plugged in my converter which the heating pad was plugged into. I wrapped the pad around my bottle and wrapped the whole thing with duct tape. I bought a bottle blanket to cover up the cobbled tape look. I don't have a thermostat on it yet, but im working on a plan using a waterbed stat. For now i just heat it up till 900 psi, and turn it off. Now you will also have a power outlet in your ride and a bottle heater for 1/3 of the price.

THIS IS NOT A CAMARO MOD, but use the same concept for whatever you drive:

The kits they sell in summit cost around $170 for the same thing I made for $30. The filter alone cost $25. All i did is get some scrap 3" stainless exhast pipe from a muffler shop, cut it into two peices and used plumbing coupling with screw clamps for the connection to the MAF sensor. you can use the factory elbow, but i wanted a smoother air route.
I removed the screens on the sensor also. This mod dropped my 0-60 in the blazer from a 9.34 to a 8.78 average on 6 different g-tech runs in the same conditions. RWHP gained 11HP and 14TQ
You can hear the air suck when u gun it.
