This page will be dedicated to the soundsystem of my car.
Under construction:-)
First the front mid & high speakers: JBL 400 gti mids and passive filters, Macrom/Morel 5700 soft/silkdome tweeters
The problem!
As you can see the JBL 400 gti
has 3 "wings" to fasten the speaker with
and they don`t fit in the 4" holes in my dash.
The solution!
It`s important to cover up the speaker so nothing get`s into the spider.
And the result!
Now they fit:-)
And now i kan use the grills again:-)
This is the cd-player, a Clarion.
The sub
I am a big fan of oem or better so when i was to get some deep bump in my car i wouldn`t just pop in a pre buildt box. I started to cover the well previously used to house my spare with plasticbags, then fiberglass and polyester, then I buildt up the edges with 8 layers of 9mm mdf before I finaly mounted the top, made from 4 layers of 9mm mdf. The subs are 4 12" Dynabel, a Norwegian brand with very good quality vs. price.
This is the amp I`m currently using for the subs
It`s a Soundstream class a 3.0 witch produces 2x12,5 watts in 4 ohm stereo but in my setup 1x300 watts driven in 1 (0,5) ohms mono. It`s a little small but good enough for now.
I also have added 8" midbass speakers to the doors but it`s not quite finished yet. Pictures to come as soon as I`m done.
