My Mx-6 started out as a daily driven car, and i really had no plans on ever moddifying it at all. For me, it wasnt really a gradual modifying process. I did tint and a 2.5" magnaflow cat back one summer, then the next summer i jumped straight into a custom turbo setup!
The car was DAMN fast for what it was on only 5 psi. The car didnt last very long though, when it over heated and warped the heads and block.
I then decided to rebuilt the engine to rebuild the engine with forged internals. I ended up using wiesco pistons (8.7:1 c/r, stock is 9.2:1) and scat forged mustang rods. the mustangs have the same strock as a KL, so their rods work perfectly. You just need to use an over sized bearing on the crank to make up the diffrance for the smaller diameter crank journal on the KL's.
